Recently relocated to Southaven, MS. I’ve been retired from the Federal Government since 2011. I worked 25 years for the Navy as a civil employee. I retired early because my mother was ill and needed care. She suffered from pulmonary fibrosis which gradually debilitated her until she was bedridden. I cared for my Mom during the last year of her life.
This past year, I cared for my friend’s husband; he also suffered from pulmonary fibrosis which ended up taking his life. I was responsible for preparing meals, light household care, aiding with breathing exercises as prescribed by therapist, providing medicine on time; shopping for household, wheeling him around the house for bathroom breaks.
I love this type of work; it gives me great satisfaction; love to serve others in need; I enjoy reading, running errands and cooking. References available upon request.
