27 years ago, My infant daughter and I fled from an abusive relationship in Florida. We didn't have much and we didn't have anywhere to go, but we headed north.
My car broke down on the first exit into Georgia.
While my car was billowing smoke, a young couple offered to help me with the car. As it turned out her mother was looking to hire someone to help her. She had a huge house and took care of nine adults with disabilities.
Two of the ladies had down syndrome, the others either had emotional or physical disabilities.
I jumped right in.
I Loved it & I Loved them.
They had big hearts and beautiful personalities.
I knew when my children were grown I definitely wanted to take care of,
be a voice for, and protect someone who needs it.
