Melinda’s Bio
I love working with adults and elders. It is such a joy to hear the unique perspectives and glean from their wisdom and experience. It is very satisfying to participate in activities such as card games, board games, seasonal arts and crafts, gardening, and a plethora of other activities dependent on mobility, mental awareness, and interest. While I have extensive experience in education, I also have been volunteering and working with elder populations since childhood. I have volunteered in full-time care facilities in various capacities on a routine basis throughout my life. As a child I assisted my mother and grandmother as they provided companion care, and helped as family and friends have needed assistance. Additionally, I stayed and cared for my mother during a period she could not live alone and provide self-care.
Community Service is core to my lifestyle and personal beliefs. Aside from volunteering at local residential care facilities, I also serve with outreaches to the homeless, impoverished, and exploited. I am also involved at my church, as well as with both local and international organizations. I am a creative person, and love crafts of all varieties. I also enjoy anything outdoors and all things nature related. I love working with both children to see their fresh enthusiasm and sense of wonder, and gleaning wisdom from the stories of elders is a joy.
Please consider my diverse experience and vast training, along with a dynamic and outgoing personality as you seek qualified care for your loved ones!
