First and foremost I star tend as a caregiver taking care of my Grandmother after she had an amputation of a leg, for 6 months. Little did I know God was lining up my future as a caregiver. At the request of residents , their family members and staff while working as an housekeeper at a Retirement community, I was approached and offered a job as a Resident Care Assiciate from the Executive Director of the facility. Long story short I worked 2years as a Caregiver. I've also worked as a Home Health Aide.
I love working with seniors and treat them all as if they were my family ( Grandparents). I've worked in other senior care facilities and have seen terrible caregiving experiences and was appalled and upset at witnessing such acts. I didn't stand for that. No further words on that statement.......
I love working with seniors because there is never a dull moment with them, lol. I love helping them and listening to the history of their lives. I love being a listening ear to whatever they want to express. I love cheering them up and being there for their needs. There's something to learn from them always. I treat them the way I hope to be treated someday if it's meant for me to live to see my Golden years. Yes I know just like everyone else they have their bad days and those are the days I go the extra mile to accommodate them.
