Currently working for Volunteers of America. Facility is a men's homeless shelter. Duties: Assist clients with personal needs as requested. Monitor facility for safety. Hourly bed checks, updating of census, ordering meals, serving and clean-up. Reminding clients of appointments, etc. assisting with contacts to provide transportation for appointments. Lending an ear and a hand whenever and wherever needed. This is a Program Assistant title, with many catchalls. Presently working 12am-8am shift. I started with 4pm-12am, over (2) years ago. Was asked to temporarily move to my shift to assist management with some problems on said shift. I personally would prefer day or evening work. I am open to any and all suggestions, however would like to try a part-time position. Looking for a change, preferably to help with solutions to problems encompassing many families in today's society. I have also worked in retail, psychiatric facilities and as a caregiver for the elderly. Have been the go to babysitter for family members for years. (I worked for free in these cases, as I am sure all aunts do). I have a very good sense of humor, and see the good in everyone. I was primary caregiver for my parents, both were victims of cancer many years ago. I lost both in their early fifties). Because of this, I have dedicated my life to helping others help their family members. I have also been a bookkeeper, secretary, dispatcher, data entry clerk, house painter. I believe I would be an asset to your company and would like an opportunity to help.
