My earliest experience with caregiving was as a teenager. My dad took in an uncle in our home and we cared for him until he passed. Several years later my mom became ill and eventually became bed-ridden until she passed on. We took care of her in our home too. In my culture, we care for our loved ones in our homes as a 'village'. We do not have nursing homes back home. We don't care to have them. These experiences made me realize how precious life is and to appreciate it more. In any way, as best I can, I strive to bring a smile and to make a person feel better in any situation they're in. So with God's help I do the best I can.
