I began taking care of my Dad when he got leukemia many years ago. My mother now has bone cancer and breast cancer, and I alternate with my brothers and sisters taking care of them, spending the day with them , making sure the understand their meds, have what they need in the house as far as groceries, checking to be sure they have what they need during bad weather, etc. It's also real important to me that they see my kids on a regular basis , their relationship with their grandchildren keeps their spirits up, and gives them something to look forward to and plan for.
