My grandmother had a debilitating stroke when I was still in college. Her health deteriorated quite painfully slowly afterwards. My family and I witnessed the awful transformation of our beloved matriarch who gave such eloquent speeches at hometown functions into a shell of a woman who couldn't even speak her name nearing the "end." It was a very difficult time for my family then, but it was made slightly easier by the generous "help" we received from my aunts who offered their nursing skills round the clock to us. I learned then how important it is to have great CAREGIVERS when a loved one is suffering.

Since then I have enhanced my own personal caregiving skills by taking up nursing and psychology courses. In 2008 I received my Certification as a Home Health Aide (HHA) here in the state of New Jersey. Currently my CHHA license is considered "INACTIVE" because I am not employed by an agency or facility at the moment. I recently finished the course again (April 3, 2015) at a local agency and am processing the "REINSTATEMENT" of my license with The New Jersey Board of Nursing. I have numerous references who can account for my working proficiency. Any additional background information and character references are available upon request.
