I have worked for Southern Tier Independence Center for the last 2 years. In those 2 years I worked for an 87yr old gentleman who needed help getting out of bed into his wheel chair every morning. I helped him shower twice a week and cooked him all his meals. I also did his laundry and cleaned his home. I was with him for a year before going to work full time for an 80yr old woman with dementia and Alzheimer's. I had to lift her out of bed every morning and help her use the bathroom and get dressed. I prepared all her meals and fed her. I also did activities with her like listening to music or reading. I was with her for a year as well! Before working for STIC I worked at Broome Developmental Center for 3yrs and I love taking care of people!
