Gregor’s Bio
I recently moved to New York from Los Angeles, where I cared for renowned Holocaust survivor Maria Altmann (immortalized by Helen Mirren in last year's movie Woman in Gold. I wrote the memoir The Accidental Caregiver about my experience.) After Maria passed away I moved to New York and lived with/cared for her cousin, Ruth Rogers-Altmann, who died last year at 97. I'm an extremely reliable, competent, nurturing, artistic, cultured, youthful, good conversationalist. These are all attributes I've found to be the most important in a caregiver, far more important than "credentials" - I've met more "well-credentialed" caregivers who were cold, careless, and devoid of any love.
