Kelly S. Care Companion in Rochester, NY 14611

Hello! My name is Kelly Snell. I'm going to briefly tell you about my experiences working with both children and the elderly.
While in college, I assisted my late grandmother with her informal daycare operated from home. Under our care and supervision, were children of all ages with the youngest being two days old.
After graduating with a Bachelor's in Health Science and certificate in elementary education, I spent four years as a classroom teacher for the Rochester City School District. I taught Kindergarten for two years, and first and second grade each for a year.
Upon leaving the RCSD, I dedicated a year and a half working with toddlers ages 18 months to 4 years of age.
A few years later, the care I provided for children shifted toward the elderly. My grandmother was diagnosed with vascular dementia and her sister with Alzheimer's. For years, we stayed in the same household. Furthermore, I began to notice how my grandmother and aunt's behavior was like that of children we cared for. My experience working with children helped me greatly with the care rendered to my loved ones (grandmother and aunt).
Patience, compassion, love, empathy, and attentiveness are a few traits I've come to master due to my caregiving experiences. Unfortunately, I lost my grandmother in May of 2016, but her memory and legacy still lives on and will never be forgotten.
