I have 4 yrs experience working for Heritage Christian services as a DSP (direct support professional) with mentally disabled individuals. I not only took care of and assisted people: I prepared meals (ground/pureed/feeding tube), bathed, clothed, administered medication (med certified), transported, did laundry, counseled, cleaned and organized their bedrooms and household, I helped people reach and achieve their daily goals to their life long term goals and potential.
I’m currently a school age teacher at sunshine village child care to kindergarteners through seventh graders all combined in one classroom. These children are from different schools, are in different grades, with different school schedules, with different struggles and needs. This where I step in and help my students maintain focus through behavior difficulties, with learning disabilities and through this Pandemic. I make sure all
Student are in school (zoom with teachers), that all students follow their specific school schedules , complete their classroom assignments, creating a lesson plan with academic curriculum for student to engage with one another building specific skills. I keep open communication between the children’s teachers and parents.
