Hello! I'm a young adult still exploring career opportunities, but I've always had a special place for the elderly in my heart. I started volunteering in the activities department of my local nursing home when I was in 6th grade. I got a job in the same department when I was 15, which I held until I left for college in 2011. I worked 1:1 and in groups with residents that needed assistance with their diet, walking, washing and toileting. I went to a very demanding liberal arts school, so it wasn't until I was a senior in college that I got my certificating in providing personal care for the elderly. I'm graduating in May, and am looking for occasional employment in companion care, as I feel most comfortable interacting with people that don't have severe motor limitations. (Those with dementia, and those that need assistance preparing food and keeping their home clean).

Reference available upon request. I sign, along with employers, an agreement to be responsible for performing my duties, as it is there responsibility to secure valuable possessions and make sure the home is safe to work in.
