My name is Katie and I am in my late 20's. My husband and I currently reside in the village of Port Jefferson, but will be relocating to NYC in APRIL 2015. Since 2007 I have worked with children and Adults with Developmental Disabilities. I have an BS in Human Services and am pursing a MSW specializing in children and adolescents. I have experience providing companionship to elderly patients. I have worked for Mary haven as an activities coordinator so I am comfortable developing fun and education activities, especially sensory based activities. I have experience working with behavioral individuals as well as with dementia and Alzheimer patients. I love animals and being outdoors. During my undergrad career I worked as a home health aide and would provide personal care as well as light house keeping duties. I am CPR, First Aide and SCIP-R certified (Strategic Crisis Intervention and Prevention).
