I have a passion for taking care of people.
By trade, I do this through cooking nutritious, wholesome meals. I received my culinary degree from the Natural Gourmet Institute for Health & Culinary Arts, and my certification in holistic wellness coaching from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition.
When I was living in Greece during my university years (completing my B.A. in Sociology), I would spent my weekends up in a small mountain village visiting the elders. I cherish every conversation I had with each of them, and learned so much from the tales of their experiences.
I love exchanging stories, and reaffirming to elders their genuine importance in today's society, even if their value is not always recognized.
Some activities I believe we might enjoy together are going for walks out in the fresh air, exploring museums, flipping through old photographs and reminiscing, enjoying a comforting home-cooked (by me) meal together, playing music or singing songs (I can play a bit of guitar), participating in religious/spiritual activities, creating artwork and exercising the right brain (imaginative creativity), engaging in fun mental sharpness exercises (left brain), and other games such as cards or trivia.
I would also like to help keep my companion's living space clean, organized and homely, as (s)he would like it. I am an efficient housekeeper, and would gladly do cleaning, laundry, and keep the place tidy.
If requested, I would be able to prepare delicious, nutritious meals and snacks for the entire week, even if only employed on a part-time basis. I have been trained in personalized meal planning for certain health conditions, and would be able to create a customized menu plan to keep my companion healthy and satisfied.
