My experience as a care companion is working with MR/DD individuals (all ages). I currently work for a agency , which my role is Program Coordinator (supervisor). I have been with the same agency since 2011 - which I was promoted in 2014. I am CPR/First Aid trained through American Red Cross. In addition I am a Physical intervention Alternatives (PIA) trainer - training including debriefing situations, handling physical aggressive individuls in a therapeutic way and being able to protect others or themselves in physical harm from behaviors. I am familiar with working with individuals with Autism, mild-severe MR ,MI, Non-verbal, OCD, Schizophrenia, Schizo-Affective Disorder , Blind. I transport individuals to work programs, meetings, work,and doctor appointments. Also, I conduct community outings , supervise staff at my workplace , provide independence and persevw dignity for residents , also maintain finances being representative payee for certain clients. I am familiar with working with state/APS documentation.
