I am a 49 year old single man. In my early 20's I lived with my grandparents to help care for my grandfather, who had an inoperable brain tumor. After his passing, I remained in my grandmother's home for a year and helped prepare her for independently living alone. When I was 16, I sat for 7 children from age range of 4 to 11 years old for my great aunt and her sister in law's family. Before that, I sat with an elderly woman overnight, cooking her meals during the evenings. I was 15 years old and attending high school. From the ages of 11 through 13, I helped my grandmother care for an uncle who was in a semicomatose state, while I also tended to my 2 sisters and made meals at our family home for 4 to 5 hours a day, 5 days per week and some weekends. I have no children of my own, but have a wealth of experience in caring for preadolescents to elderly clients. My experience required no certifications back then, just a caring and able minded body and spirit. Currently, I work the evening shift at the Chisholm Trail Casino as a Player's Club clerk. My usual days off are Mondays and Tuesdays.
