When I was 13 years old, my precious grandmother suffered a heart attack, and I wanted to help her so during that summer, I stayed with her at her home...giving her meds...washing and styling her hair, reading to her, etc. I realized as the years went by that I had a special gift of bonding with the elderly. I recently spent 3 months in Mississippi cross-training with nutrition staff and Alzheimer's staff at an excellent assisted living center. I don't have adequate words to describe the joy I felt serving those clients.
I currently work Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday at an excellent senior living center in the Moore area, but would enjoy giving home care on the other days...transportation, preparing meals, errands, etc. ..whatever it takes to make your loved one's quality of life increase and your stress decrease.
