I truly believe it takes a certain heart, an open set of eyes and patience sent from God to work and live with special needs kids and adults.
I am the youngest of eight and have taken care of my older deaf sister who also has Aspergers since I can remember. My mother also changed her career and became an Occupational Therapist, I have grown up around the deaf, the blind, kids and senior citizens with: Cerebral Palsy, Autism, Down Syndrome. I have been an assistant to a young boy with Cerebral Palsy (heavy lifting)and I swear
he was more in touch with life then most of my friends.I use to change my sister's trekh.My sister, who is 28 just recently got the Baja Implant which has given her all her heading back! Thank Jesus ! After 12 years of taking her to and from work,
I might not have to because she is working on speech and driving now. I just quit after four years at a physical therapy clinic to take a leap of faith in helping people anyway I know how. I have spread light in my sister's life and in this state, Though I live in Oklahoma now, I plan on relocating to Florida if possible.
I am ready for new people and new beginnings !
