I am seeking to get out of nonprofit ... and out from behind my desk!

Although I've not been a care companion, I have experience working with individuals over 60 years of age from my involvement organizational-wide at Berks Visiting Nurse Association, their sister organizations Pottstown VNA and Advantage Home Health Care as well as my work the past two years with the members at The Center at Spring Street and our Meals on Wheels recipients.

I've always enjoyed spending time with individuals who are older than I am. I enjoy asking questions, hearing their stories, etc. I just helped my grandmother celebrate her 99th birthday.

I believe aging can become very isolating. It doesn't have to be. To have people to talk with, drive places, run errands, engage in card games and that type of thing - it's important to have personal interactions. It's important to be as social as possible, emotionally, mentally and physically healthy. If I can provide that for an individual - I would dearly enjoy the opportunity.
