I am a certified and licensed Occupational Therapy Assistant. My grandpa had Lyme disease and my grandmother was diagnosed with dementia when I was in high school. My responsibilities included med management, bathing/grooming, meal prep and special diets, light housekeeping, and dressing even at a young age.I have training in not only providing those in need with proper care but also with educating individuals to adjust to life changes to increase their independence with activities of daily living such as dressing, bathing, cooking, cleaning, and overall strength, balance, and endurance.
I work about 32 hours a week and am looking for occasional or regular flexible work for both a change in pace for me and to keep utilizing my skills. I have most of my experience with individuals living with dementia and work personally with family and caregivers to provide needed structure and coping strategies throughout the years of cognitive deficits. I am also certified in First Aid/CPR/AED.
