I have worked as a personal care assistant for 2 years. My clients were a senior woman with MS and a senior psychiatric patient.

I helped them with groceries, meal prepping, cooking, medicine refilling and reminding, housekeeping bathing and changing clothes. Also, I took the patient to appointments with doctors, psychiatrists, and other mental health professionals.

My tasks included collecting data and writing reports on the patient’s progress as well as handling her behavior issues such as tantrums or mental breakdowns happening from time to time. The patient’s positive or appropriate behaviors were also reinforced with praise, treats or access to her preferred activities.
