I've made myself available for work as a gentleman nanny for preferably school age through high school kids. Not so much Mr. French from FAMILY AFFAIR, though I always comport myself as a gentleman, but more, let's say, Boris Karloff doing light comic opera.

In the company of a family, I might be mistaken for their bodyguard, being that I am physically quite the Brobdingnagian specimen. Not intimidating, just the big, friendly dog type that strangers know better than to kick.

For school age kids, I'm more the life coach, teaching chef, musical explorer type. They balk at the idea of a nanny or babysitter, but can accept that someone worldly and fun is tasked with monitoring their well being in this day and age. Someone who knows how to drive a BMW R90/6 with a sidecar, how to shop for an antique car, how to make huge batches of cabbage rolls, how to survive on a tiny island off the coast of Maine by yourself, how to recognize and avoid trouble in multiple scenarios, what to see when you look up at trees and old buildings.

My wife and I raised two kids who are an absolute delight. Good friends to their friends, confident with any social setting, young men that others turn to. They both graduated from Friends' Central, one graduated Magna Cum Laude in dual majors math and econ from Dickinson, the other With Honors from Pratt. Both employed, in love, active with music and popular culture, and participants in sports. Both kind, empathetic, engaging, involved. I always worked from home since they started school, and ran the comings and goings of our crazy castle of a William Lightfoot Price 1890s home.

I decided to check 'Companion' on this service, as who and what I am brings much to the table. If someone infirm or very elderly is still ambulatory for certain needs, I may be available. Low key but full of pep, there may be a good connection worth exploring.

I am writing a children's book, hopefully the first of a series, set in Nantes, in the Loire Valley, titled BON JOUR, YVIE!
