Becoming a nurse is a true act of love and compassion. Nursing allows me to provide day- to- day care with dignity, dedication, compassion, respect and devotion. I can provide personalized physical, emotional, and spiritual care on an individual level. I enjoy the opportunity of meeting people and listening to them share the stories of their past lives and future dreams. I respect and admire all of the experiences they have had throughout their lives. Putting a smile on their faces is gratifying and makes me feel I have done my job. I have always enjoyed helping people so I know I am doing the right thing. Caring for others provides me with an opportunity to give back, to provide peace of mind, comfort and to add to their quality of life in the comfort of their own familiar surroundings. I have had the privilege of caring for my father and mother-in-law during their illnesses, and the opportunity to care for a close friend's father with Alzheimer's.
