Currently I am a direct support professional working through a company called Gateways to Change. I chose this job because one thing I truly love doing is helping people. At my current job I am caring for adults with disabilities which includes cooking, cleaning, as well as bathing and dressing. Before the virus I was an after school teacher working with preschoolers. I helped with any homework they had, we colored, worked on the alphabet and numbers, and played outside a lot. I also have plenty of experience with pets. I have had dogs growing up, I recently took in a stray, and have family and friends with different breeds of dogs. As well as a family friend with a bearded dragon.
