My senior year of high school (4 years ago) I got my nurses assistant certification. Since then I have spent a little over a year working in two different nursing homes. For 5 months last year I cared for a special needs teenage boy. I also spent approximately 4 months as the care companion for an elderly lady. I had the pleasure of spending her last days with her which was a special experience. Both of those jobs taught me a lot about how to sensitively care for those who can’t care for themselves anymore.
