I am a retired elementary school teacher, who would enjoy being be a companion for the elderly. I provided longterm care for my mother with dimentia and ultimately Alzheimer's for five years in her home, eventually leaving my home to live with her.  For my 90 year old aunt, I also provided longterm companionship.  I can run errands. prepare meals, perform light housework, and organize necessities within easy reach for the elderly. 
Making seniors happy through attention and conversation is enjoyable to me, and I am a very caring companion.  I know from my own experience of the difficulty finding companions for my mother and aunt and especially how difficult it is to find someone to stay overnight.  I can spend the night and am available on the weekend when many care givers are not available.  As a widow with a grown son, I don't have demanding family obligations and have very flexible hours. When my mother entered a nursing home, I did volunteer work at the Alzheimer's unit.  I am experienced and capable!
