My career started when I had to move in with my grandmother to take care of her since my dad wouldn't . I loved my grandmother very much and I wasn't just going to leave her along and let her die, without food and medications. So I moved in ,I got her cleaned up, fed, and healthy because she was a diabetic and suffer from congestional heart failure. My grandmother was my best friend and I took care of her until the day she passed away on Jan. 18, 1994. But before she passed away, I found out that I was with child and that I was threatening to have a miscarriage. My doctor told me that I was under alot off stress because I already had to toodlers, a grandmother, and a husband to take care of. So I was forced to make a decision and that was to put my Grandmother into a nursing home until after the baby was born. I struggle with the idea to put my Grandmother in a home even though she agreed to go (for the well being of my unborn child). But I just couldn't do it because I knew no one could take care of her like I could, so I kept her home and took care of her until she left here. And I'm glad I did because it gave me purpose, some way to give back to others that has already given back so much to others (strength and wisdom). I have worked many different jobs but Caregiving is my passion, I love the seasoned people because they deserve the BEST care possible, they earned that right by the years they have lived. So why not make their last year's their BEST year on this Earth ! I have a heart(LOVE), compassion, and patience to give to those that need it. I have 20+ years of Caregiving, I started working for company called Loving Hands Nursing Registry. I started working with this company (Feb.1995) a year after my Grandmother passed away. I worked with this company until they closed down in Dec.2001. Then I worked for other companies like Sitters Etc.(Memphis), All TN Caregivers (Bartlett), and Access Home Healthcare (Memphis), currently working for Comfort Keepers. Also worked with other Caregivers with Private duty cases, with references upon request. I would love to be a blessing to someone who deserves the BEST care that I have to offer. Days/Hours I will be willing to work Monday through Friday, no weekends, prefer hours 7am-7pm, 40+ hours a week/ at least $15 to $20 dollars an hours, depending on hours and location.
