My career of 25 years was in Special Education and Mental Health. For the last 15 years I was caretaker of my spouse as he recovered from a brain injury. I want to return to work part time.

I have the personal attributes that I believe are favorable to employment with a Senior Citizen. I respect my elders.
I am modest in dress. I am discreet in vocabulary and humor. My Grandmother raised me. I am proud to be a refined lady. I enjoy hearing stories of reminiscing and/or of wisdom gleaned from the passage of time and life experiences.
I have never smoked. I do not drink. I have no issues in my background. I never had committed a crime. I welcome the background check and appreciate that I would be working for someone with high standards.

Through my efforts, I hope to foster joy, provide companionship and help someone be able to remain in their home. I want to help find ways to assist them to compensate for loss or change in areas of functioning.
Or do things their way if that is their desire. My experiences have helped me to find new ways to teach people do ordinary things that make use of the strengths and bypass the weaknesses. I enjoy the music genres that are usually connected to senior citizens such as Big Band, Jazz, Swing, Bluegrass, Folk, Hymns, etc.

I am focused on the environment in which interactions are taking place. I am proactive to scan the area for possible safety hazards that could result in falls or injury. I have worked with individuals prone to wander.

I answer every question with a kind and respectful reply, even if it has been asked over and over. I have the gift of patience and I remain calm during emergencies.
