I can remember as a little girl going to the nursing home to visit my grandmother and loving going to the other peoples rooms visiting with them. As I got older I went to school and became a medical assistant and took time off to raise my three children. In 2000 my daddy was diagnosed with PSP and I seen the struggle my mom had taking care of him on her own. So I jumped in and helped her out. After he passed away I decided that I wanted to do companion care for a living. My first job was with a lady who had Parkinson's disease after she passed I went to be with another family whose loved one had Parkinson's disease also. I love my job and have always said you cant do this job for a paycheck! I do it for the smile you receive when they see you each day.
