Let me start off by saying that I have never had specific on the job training for companion care but I believe that I am more than capable of handling a job caring for your loved one. I have a very small family to include only my mom, dad, two younger sisters and now my grandma on my dad's side of the family. My parents do not have siblings so I don't have any uncles/aunts/cousins. My mom was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2011 and my dad has Chiari malformation which is a brain malformation. I have been the primary caregiver for my family for the last 7 years. I am extremely educated and well informed on many different diseases and disorders our there along with treatments and how to administer treatments. My parents have had many major and minor surgeries which I was required to drive them to and from, fill out paperwork, administer medication, injections, help lift them, make them comfortable, give them sponge baths at times as well as do all of the household chores. I, myself, have a multitude of health issues which I receive treatment for. I understand the pain, frustration, confusion, and sometimes depression and anxiety that can come from health matters. I have always had a heart for the elderly and believe this to be a great job I could have while in going to school. Though I am a business major, I have always held care positions. I would love to find a companion to share my time with, encourage and provide care for. Thank you for your consideration! :)
