I believe that caregivers are born. That being said, after raising three awesome children I found myself qualified for little else. I received my Nursing Assistant certification more than 20 years ago and never looked back. I have cared for hospice patients and residents in nursing facilities, some young, most not so young. Though my home care experience has been sparse, when I contemplate the future in this profession its more likely than not that I will end with some type of companion care. What makes me good at caring? As a child, first born, I recall looking after my brothers, the neighbor kids, animals, my parents. I'm a good, kind, thoughtful soul who truly enjoys making people feel comfortable, loved and cared for. It has been an honor and a privilege to serve those who have crossed my path, the good Lord willing I have a few more years left in me yet.
