Cynthia K. Care Companion in Liberty Hill, TX 78642

I'm 59 years old and retired from the state. My mother recently passed away due to Alzheimer's and my dad was her main caregiver until it became clear he needed help. Although they lived in Oklahoma, I made many trips there these last few years to care for my mom and give him some relief. He's 85 now and I know how important good help can be to the family.
When I first retired, I worked as a volunteer driver for Faith in Action for 2 years. I drove and helped people get to their appointments, grocery store, beauty parlor, etcetera.
I worked at the Texas Baptist Children's Home in Round Rock as a house mother for 2 years before I started working for the state. I was responsible for complete 24-hr. care for multiple children, including cooking, cleaning and bathing. These children were removed from their crises situations and temporarily placed with me until Child Protective Services could place them back home or somewhere else.
I've always had a strong compassion for seniors. Even when I was in high school, I befriended several older people over the years and would visit with them just to keep them company. I also learned a lot from them. One lady taught me how to knit although I don't remember how to do it now.
I'm a calm influence during chaos and I'm very patient, especially with people suffering from Alzheimer's.
