Johanna’s Bio
I have provided round the clock care for my mother after her hysterectomy with complication. I moved to Ft. Worth to live with and provide care, which included hospice, for my grandmother in the last month of her life. I have also provided companionship to an older teen girl with cerebral palsy. She was a joy to spend time with. Her family asked me to "babysit" her on occasion, but I never wanted to call it baby sitting, which is why I refer to her as a companion. I currently provide support to my parents as my father is handicapped from an accident in 2012 and my mother requires physical and emotional support. I am very nurturing and am not faint of heart. I have bathed elderly family members with handicaps. I love talking and reading with/to people. I enjoy spending time outside, taking in the beauty of nature and taking walks. Of course, any restrictions are observed and abided by. Attention to the weather, temperature and any related conditions are a consideration as well. I love to play board games, cards, dominoes, etc., but I should warn that I do require being taught some games never played before, and occasional refreshing of the memory. In closing, I have two adult children and, in my opinion, they are my best examples of my care.
