I am a State Certified CNA. Prior to becoming a CNA, I took care of my Mother for 3 years with all activities of daily living, 24/7. Maintained 12 medications, monitored blood sugar, gave insulin 4 times daily , all duties required to maintain her health and well being. After she passed away, I was at a loss. So, I decided, or God did, to become a certified nurse aide. I worked for an ageny for one year after becoming certifed and felt I was not suited for all the travel I endured and I needed one little person to love and care for . So, I found my special little lady and took care of her for three years. Unfortunately, her dementia took full control over her and she passed away this year (2016).
I was trained at Companion Extraordinaire Nursing Network, Ashland, Va and worked 3 months prior to certification at Ashland Rehad and convalescent center for skills.
I have been State certified since 2012 even though I had already performed the same work for 3 years prior to certification.
Prior to becoming a caregiver, I was an Accountant for 25 years.
My day is complete when I have made someone smile.
I love antiques, collectibles, flowers, yard work, gardening, birds, animals, and people.

I prefer to work three weekdays a week away from home, however, would keep some one in my home full time; must like small dogs & be mobile, I have no wheelchair access. Must love the country way of life.
My motto is to make someone happy and make someone smile today.
