My name is Shari. I am applying for a Care Companion.
I worked for Southside Va. Training Center for 15 years before they closed in 2014. I have worked at Home Health Care ever since then.
My duties at S.V.T.C. included assisting with daily activities such as physical and oral hygiene ( bathing, dressing, toileting, continence / incontinence dental) , feeding, meal preparation. Assisting with transfers, wheelchair, bed, stand pivot. Experience in using the ARJO and Hoya lifts. ROM exercise, and physical management. I have had C.N.A. license since 1991.
My work has included working with the mentally and physically challenged. I had a son and niece who had special needs. So that is how I got into this field. Starting with being an volunteer for the school they attended. My first job was at Riverside Convalescence Center in Hampton, Va., after graduating. But I continued to this day to be a faithful and reliable care giver. Anymore info given upon request.
