Lauren L. Care Companion in Petersburg, VA 23803

Just trying to get my name out there... My name is Lauren Littell, I'm 21 years old, I love taking care of elderly people, or people who need help taking care of themselves. I was a caregiver for my mom before she passed away in 2014. She had Lupus, and other health challenges. I was responsible for cooking her meals and walking her to the bathroom. I also help her get dressed, shower, and also take her to her doctors' appointments. I was asked to helped with other elderly members of my church. I would complete chores as requested and accomplish housecleaning and cooking. With my church youth ministry and adult Sunday school classes, I participated in visiting nursing homes during the holidays. We also fed the homeless. When I was in high school I went on a mission trip every year called TriCities Workcamp, we helped the elderly who needed to paint their houses, or rebuild ramps, railings, or kitchen floors, etc. I really feel I have a heart to help others. While taking care of my mother, I realized how much there is a need for elder care. I realized how much easier it would have been for my father and I if we had had someone who we trusted that could take care of my mother, and talk to her as we did. That's when I realized that I wanted to do for others what I had done for my mother. She would want me to have a job that helps people, and though she is no longer here with us. I want to make her proud by serving others in need. I also helped take care of "Uncle" Mason and his mom before his mom passed away at 102 years old. Mason has Parkisons, so it's hard for him to walk, and such. I helped him take him to the bathroom, make sure he was safely at the chair or bed he wanted to be at, cooked in breakfast, lunch and dinner, then he ended up in the hospital, so I had to find another job, I'm currently at subway. am willing to travel as north as Henrico Virginia, and as south as Petersburg Virginia. I hope this can get shared around Virginia in my area. :)
