Hello, my name is Janice Forbes. I am a wife and a mother of 2 amazing children. I have worked with children with special needs and the elderly. Some say I have the patients of a saint but I tell them I just treat those like I would want to be treated. Everyone who I ever worked for are like family to me. I received my Personal Care Aide licence in June 2010 and became CPR certified. I assist clients with varying ability levels (mental impairment, chronically ill, physically incapacitated) with daily living needs; attend medical appointments and communicate client needs with family members, doctors, and other medical professionals; coach clients in following and adhering to doctor's orders; ensure safe environment in the home for client; medication reminders and ensure proper dosage; assist client by boosting morale when patient may feel down about illness; organize client schedule; take clients out to grocery and department stores to assist with shopping needs; assist with paying bills, organizing schedule, and planning meals; assist with daily hygiene to include bathing, dental care, and bathroom assistance; assist with upkeep of home through vacuuming, mopping, washing clothes and linen, and other cleaning duties as needed and requested.
