I have experience with Alzheimer and dementia patients. Some of the experiences I have are companionship, light housework, meal preparation, bathing, transferring using gait belt, incontinence care, vitals, basic wound cares. I went to school and graduated from the medical assisting program. I’ve worked in an assisted living facility for 5 years, so that's where most of my experiences come from. I love working with elderly disabled people because I’ve noticed when I was working at my facility, no matter if they’re having a rough day i knew how to make them smile all they want its love and support from people. I became a caregiver because of my grandmother. She had a trachea tube in her throat and at the time i was in high school taking up Cosmotology but i chose to do Nurse Aide to help her. She died in 2008. She was the reason why i chose to help people that need it more then me.
