I have 10+ years experience working in home care. I have an associates degree and certificate in health sciences,and was qualified as a PCA while working for Home Instead Sr Care. After working for them for two years, I began working private duty. I have experience using a variety of durable medical equipment, including the Hoyer lift, oxygen condenser, and portable oxygen. I have worked with patients with dementia, stroke, cancer, and other conditions and am familiar with palliative care and end of life care.
I currently care for a 95 year old lady three days a week, so I am available on Mondays and Thursdays. I am willing to do personal care, light housework, and meal prep as needed.
My mother was a stroke patient, and I provided her day to day care. I learned a lot about being a caregiver first hand, and understand it from the family perspective as well as a professional. She had a wonderful sense of humor, and I try to bring a "lightness" to my caregiving. I try to provide the quality of care that I would have wanted for my parents.
