Jackie S. Care Companion in Seattle, WA 98107

I am currently a graduate student at SPU and I work 10 hours per week as a Graduate Research Assistant for one of the professors in my program. My research role is fairly flexible and all of my classes are in the evening. I have the time and energy for part-time work--so now I am looking to supplement my research job with companion care work (ideally 20-25 hours per week). I have evening classes on SPU's campus three days per week that start at 5:30pm. I have set research assistant commitments from 10-11am every other Wednesday and noon-2pm every other Thursday.

While my grandmother was living in an assisted living facility, I enjoyed visiting her and her friends and neighbors regularly. I cherished the life stories and experiences that I heard about while spending my afternoons there--they enriched my life. Studying for school and spending time with older individuals are two activities that differ significantly, but I believe that each one will positively impact the other. They will each rejuvenate me in unique ways, and the energy and passion gained in one will overflow into the other. I believe that this will benefit the folks I am working with, in addition to making me a better student.
