Sara’s Bio

I have worked predominantly as a Pastry Chef for the past 33 years but have often worked as a care giver for both the very young and the frail and/or elderly population. I did this through the Family Service Agency, Santa Barbara, CA and PALS in Rockland, ME. After many years satisfying my pastry making/baking needs I am now interested in doing more caregiving and less professional kitchen work. In 2015 I returned to Chicago to take care of my 100 year old father. Always a lover of life, Dad passed away last February, Although he had short term memory loss and mild cognitive impairment, dad was very sharp. I helped him with his ADL needs as well as keeping him engaged with life including the arts, friends, and family.
I am gentle, empathetic, compassionate, and a good listener who loves engaging with my elders in quiet conversation, walks outdoors, and going to museums, playing card games and more.
