Teresa R. Care Companion in Belington, WV 26250

I love being around the young and old alike as I think they have many similarities. Growing up, my family visited and cared for my grandparents often. I assisted my mother with the care of my aging grandmother and grandfather 1974-1978 when I was the ages of 16-20. I also helped with the care of another grandmother with dementia during my senior year of high school. I assisted my mother with her care by bathing, dressing, providing meals, and helping with medication. In May of 2014, my mother fractured a vertebrae in her back. I provided care for her by bathing, dressing, providing meals and medication, driving her to doctor appointments, and doing housework until she was independent again in September 2014. I am a very caring, loving, and positive person and I believe these attributed to her recovery. I enjoyed making her laugh, singing with her, sitting on her porch while engaging in great conversations.
I am recently retired from teaching elementary school children. My first teaching experience was with four and five year olds as I taught Sunday School at 19 years of age. I have taught regular education classes and special needs children since 1979. I also have two grown daughters of my own.
I have had first aid training and CPR training.
