Hi, My name is Jessica. I am twenty years old, and I live in Athens. I have been working with kids since I was 12 years old. I volunteered in children’s church, helped out in nursery and VBS over the summer. I was an Awana leader through high school. I helped teach lessons, do games, activities, and crafts with the kids. I graduated high school three years ago, and I went to college in California for a year. I have worked at a summer camp for the past two years. The first year I was a senior counselor. I was in charge of a cabin of 7-10 girls ages ranging from 6-12. I went through two weeks of extensive training on taking care of kids. The second summer, I was the dean of woman. I was in charge of mentoring the female counselors, but also, I helped with small tasks Read more behind the scenes with the campers. Through working at camp, I am CPR and first aid certified. The past couple months I have been helping my sister out with her three kids, ages 3, 2, and 1. She was pregnant and put on bed rest, so she needed someone to help take care of her kids on a long term basis until she had the baby. I woke up with them in the morning, made them breakfast, made a bottle for the youngest, and did the morning chores (laundry, dishes, cleaning, etc.). I played with the kids throughout the day. I would read them books. I did arts and crafts with them. I gave them baths a couple times a week. I also made meals (I can make anything from casseroles to simple dishes such as macaroni and cheese). I did grocery runs, and other small errand runs. I changed diapers. And I helped get them ready for bed. As for me, I am friendly and compassionate. I have a heart willing to serve. I am task oriented, so I get things done. I am also family oriented, so I love to spend time with the kids. I am creative. I love to do arts and crafts. I am sporty. I love to play games. I am dependable and honest. I am responsible. I love to cook and bake. I can help with cleaning tasks. I love pets. I am a good driver with no record. I am a hard worker. I am also a good organizer. I work well under stress. I am a good listener. I am highly adaptable to new situations. I have an upbeat and positive attitude. And I am eager to meet new challenges.
