I am currently on a 3 month hiatus from a position with a family during mother's maternity leave after birth of second child. I have held this position for 2.5 years. I prefer occasional or every other week/job sharing or 7 on 7 off schedule. I have 3.5 years experience working with children from age 12 weeks through 4 years. I have been a substitute teacher working with elementary school children with special needs. I have also been employed as a Standardized Patient with UAB's Office of Standardized Patient Education for over 15 years. My focus in childcare is helping children develop life skills including fine and gross motor skills through imaginative play and crafts. I emphasize reading, independent play, music and outdoor play while limiting if not excluding screen time. I am patient, kind and spend a lot of time engaged with children laughing, playing and singing.
