I have always enjoyed being around children no matter the age, especially if I could teach them something. Because of this, early on in high school I became a tutor and a babysitter for the neighborhood. I babysat a few kids ages 8-13 and tutored up to my age. After high school, in college I continued to tutor. During college I pursued a B.S. in biology with a minor in secondary STEM education and taught middle school. I found myself loving students in small groups, however, I knew teaching large classrooms back-to-back was not for me. After that I missed having students and teaching someone complicated matter in simplistic ways. While I have had experiences with many age groups, I've found myself in love with infants and newborns. The way they look at you, smile at you, and cuddle makes my heart melt. Recently I became a mother myself (he's Read more now 4 months old) and have especially found this to be true. I am his full time mom during weekdays and am producing milk to help feed. I would love to share this as well if wanted. For certifications and skills, I have gained quite a few. I am CPR certified including for infants. I have current skills in all involving a newborn- changing diapers, making formula bottles or giving breast milk, burping, swaddling, comforting a fussier- premie baby (mine came early so I have experience with a premie who had a hard time gaining weight and feeding- but he's a champion now!), putting them to sleep, bath time, and more. I am open to different parenting styles and will follow whichever plan the parents set. I do have supplies as well such as baby rattles, swaddles, burp clothes, and any others I'd be willing to share. I have a reliable vehicle with a car seat. Pets are also no issue- I have experience at a Reptile Rescue center and the Humane Society of Pulaski County so I love pets as well. If given the opportunity, I would love to help nurture and care for other infants. I am confident I can care for any little one and help foster developmental growth.
