Hello! Thank you so much for checking out my profile! I LOVE kids, and love to care for them. My experience comes through various areas. Beginning from childhood, I am the 3rd oldest and oldest daughter in a Christian family of 12 children, having 9 younger siblings whom I cared for growing up. Our family fostered from when I was 11 years old till I was 21, working with kids ranging in age from infants to 11 years. Through this I have had experience working with, living with, and caring for disabled, traumatized, emotionally disturbed, and mentally or academically set back kids, helping them to recover to a healthy and happy state! These years spent with the kids have been an incredible blessing to me. I have worked both for Transitions For The Developmentally Disabled and for Affinity Family Care, caring for physically disabled kids. Though I worked these jobs Read more minimally, as my main source of employment since 2011 has been at a faith based Christian preschool and childcare. I have LOVED my time there, working in the beginning as an assistant, then as a lead elementary age teacher through the summers and on school breaks. And then as a 2 year old teacher. I often wonder, amazed that I can be so well blessed that I am paid to do exactly what I love! Working in child care for 3 years I've continued to educate myself and learned so much more about how to care for children ages 6 weeks - 12 years in group setting, as well as to understand their developmental processes and behaviors. I am CPR and First Aid certified, and have a food handlers card. I have many hours of training classes taken on early child hood development, etc. I'm happy to cook, clean, wash laundry, whatever you may need around your house in addition to caring for the kids! In 2013, I spent 2 months overseas as well as a few months amidst refugees, much of this time also working with children of other cultures and backgrounds, often teaching English and/or hygiene. I am excited to take your child(ren) on fun outings to the park, zoo, etc. (should you so desire) or be crafty around the house. I am a joyful, loving, nurturing caregiver. I love to smile, sing, and build children up, encouraging and helping them to grow and reach higher. I especially enjoy tutoring and teaching.
