I am 20 years old, from California, and I will be transferring to NAU to start school in Fall 2016. Having a younger brother who is 6 years younger than me has a lot to do with why I am a caregiver. I am sure that he helped establish the nurturing side in me that has grown over many years. I have worked with children with special needs within my family. This consisted of feeding and playing with them and changing many diapers. For five years I have also cared for children who come from abusive and poverty stricken homes which required nothing but loving on them, playing with them, caring for their safety, and making sure they are eating enough and eating well. The first time I started care giving I was pretty young and watched over the son of a CEO for many years. I love working with children so much that I am a nursing major with the goal becoming a pediatric nurse.
