I became a caregiver in 2016 after my twin brother, who was also a caregiver, passed away suddenly. After finding out his direct member was highly affected by his passing, I took on his weekend position and discovered how rewarding it was. This was a group home setting with 5 adult members living with disabilities residing there and two staff members scheduled at all times. The members were complete care and and so I am comfortable with the personal care aspect of care giving. I was also the office manager and HR Coordinator for a non-medical home care agency whose primary clients were seniors and have experience with hospice and dementia clients. I have experience in recruiting caregivers, knowing what clients are looking for in a caregiver, as well as understanding the requirements and characteristics this type of job requires. I feel we are all meant to do more in Read more regards to helping our community and one of the most rewarding yet undervalued role is providing time and assistance to those unable to help themselves.
