I am the oldest of three, so I have been taking care of children ever since I was old enough to change a diaper (this started when I was 5) . At the age of 12 I began babysitting independently for people in my neighborhood and church. My services were in very high demand. People would have to call me weeks in advance in order to reserve a time slot for me to watch their children, and this wasn't for a lack of girls my age that wanted to babysit. At the age of 14 I also began to go into my stepmother's second grade classroom as an unofficial teacher's aide. I kept babysitting consistently for several different families until I graduated high school and started working and going to school full time.
